The Master of the Horse humbly
begs to submit for Your Majesty's gracious consideration
and commands the case of James Ealey
a Coachman
who, being from ill health
incapable of further service is recommended for a Retired
Allowance.
James Ealey now in
his Sixty-second year, entered the Royal
Household on 28th October 1838
as a Postilion, having previously
been seven years in the service of
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent
and has therefore been
Forty four years in the service of
Your Majesty
The amount of Retired Allowance to be granted

to Servants in Your Majesty's Establishment is
regulated by Your Majesty's Order, communicated to
the Great Officers of the Household by the Lords
Commissioners of Your Majesty's Treasury on the 11th
of January 1860.

This Order accords to Servants who have served
Forty-four years Fifty-two pounds
per cent of the salary and emoluments of the appoint-
ment which they hold at the time of their Retirement
and directs that in cases of very meritorious service an
additional grant of a sum not exceeding twenty per
cent of the Retired Allowance thus calculated shall
be submitted for Your Majesty's sanction and approval
The salary and emoluments of James
Ealey have been £152-2-—
